Dell xps m1530 battery Charging problem

I’m having a problem with my m1530. The battery is currently not charging but on ac power the laptop works fine. When I check the

bios it says that my ac adapter is unknown. I contacted dell and they told me to check the connections on the ac adapter and the

battery which I did and all seem fine. They sent me a new ac adapter and I still have the same problem. Also i changed my os from

vista to xp using the tutorial on this website and was wondering could this be the cause of the problem. Any help would be really

appreciated as I’ve been trying to fix this for ages

which seems to have least issues with charging m1530).. battery won’t charge when lap is of nor in bios…in vista it gives the

famous “plugged in,not charging” message.. but..if i drain the battery to lets say 25% it charges back to 51%..if i drain it more

it charges up to 49% and i have to unplug and plug ac adapter then it charges back to 51 %…
i’ve tested battery health by pressing it…it lights up 5 leds(while holding) which seems to be the sign of a bad battery..
so my question is , i bought the Dell XPS M1530 Battery 8 months ago, it drained pretty fast if its the battery

Dell XPS M1330 Not Charge

The Dell XPS M1330 laptop i boutht in September last year, and now the one year warranty expired I received a notice that my battery was reaching the end of its usable life. I clicked on the suggested bubble that popped up (in the bottom right of the screen next to the clock). I am a student with very little money, and I even applied my student discount to the replacement battery. the only solution that was offered to me was to purchase an equivalent battery more than 100 or 200

This is my first laptop computer, and the XPS M1330 Battery makes me unhappy ! The battery was clearly designed to fail just beyond the coverage of the warranty, and that really makes me mad.

At the time of purchase I had complete confidence in this product. Now my laptop has been functionally reduced to a desktop; within one year! I feel as though the XPS M1330 Battery has completely misrepresented the quality of their product. I understand that battery technology (my roommate is an engineering graduate student), but this is unacceptable and well below industry standard.

Finally, I found a replacment laptop battery shop,and buy a replacement Dell XPS M1330 Battery

Why do Li Ion batteries like Sony's NP-BG1 camera battery have three contacts rather than two?

Many rechargeable batteries have 3 or even 4 contacts. For the most part they are used to sense the battery temperature. If the battery gets too hot the charger either shuts down for a while or switches to a slower charge rate.

Where is the cheapest place to buy Sony NP-BG1 battery, and BC-TRG charger? I'm looking to purchase both these items and i'm having problems finding good prices for them.

I am glad it comes with a battery pack that lasts longer than a standard 2xAA but: 1. What is the lifetime of such a battery pack? How many reuses can i get out of it? 2. Are such Li-ion batteries or specially this Sony pack decent? Should i purchase a second battery pack and leave it on the shelf for a year when the 1st pack dies? I wouldn't bother buying a second battery at this stage, because the battery that comes supplied with it will allow up to 340 shots per charge (which is a lot more than what other batteries provide). I'm not sure of how many times a battery can be charged, but it would be quite a large number of times. However, the real downside to this battery, is that it takes a very long 4.5 hours to fully charge it. But, you CAN buy a 1.5 hour, fast charger (which is an extra and expensive cost).

Another very clever marketing idea from Sony, of course. If I were you, I would just use the one battery and takes steps to conserve it's life by turning off the LCD screen in- between shots, limit how long you review your images, and also limit your use of the flash. You can also turn off the LCD and use the viewfinder instead to compose your shots. Doing this, will give you lots more battery life. And make sure you give the battery a top up charge as often as possible. You don't have to wait for the battery to fully drain before you re-charge it.

Do you guys think a generic NP-BG1 battery not made by Sony, from China, for my digital camera, will blow up? It might. OEM batteries have on board circuitry that prevents over charging . ..

How long do lithium batteries last, in a digital camrea? Hi i have a Sony NP-BG1 Lithium-ion battery , and im wondering how long would it last on an average.

I know it depends on usage and how much u recharge it really. But how long on average do they last? according to my manual, mine are supposed to last 350 images. But depending on viewing your pics, using the camera for a slideshow, etc. it could be less, but they last a very long time. Not sure how many charges they last, because I haven't been there yet.
